HEETS UAE: Availability, Device Compatibility and TEREA Options

The official IQOS UAE support page currently states that HEETS are available through its online shop, the IQOS Boutique at Dubai Mall and selected groceries, petrol stations and other tobacco retailers. That means it would be inaccurate to say HEETS have disappeared completely from the UAE market.
What has changed is the device generation promoted to buyers. IQOS ILUMA uses induction heating and requires TEREA. HEETS remain associated with older blade-based IQOS devices.

Can you use HEETS in IQOS ILUMA?
No. IQOS ILUMA is not designed for HEETS. HEETS are inserted into devices that contain a heating blade, while ILUMA uses a blade-free induction system and sealed TEREA sticks with a metal heating element inside each stick.
A HEETS stick may physically resemble TEREA, but the heating systems are different. Similar size does not mean interchangeable. If the device name includes ILUMA or ILUMA i, choose TEREA.
Can you use TEREA in an older IQOS device?
No. TEREA should not be inserted into an IQOS 3 DUO, IQOS ORIGINALS or another blade-generation device. IQOS warns that using TEREA with previous-generation devices may damage the device. The sealed stick is built specifically for ILUMA induction heating.

It is more accurate to describe the change as a device-generation transition:
- Keep using HEETS if you own a compatible blade-based IQOS device.
- Use TEREA if you own an IQOS ILUMA or ILUMA i device.
