How to Read a TEREA Carton: Origin, Pack Count & Compatibility

Knowing how to read a TEREA carton prevents three common buying mistakes: choosing the wrong stick family, confusing a pack with a carton, and treating the origin market as a guarantee of a particular edition. The useful details are printed in several places, so the front colour alone is not enough.
This guide explains the fields used across TereaStore’s current multi-origin catalogue. Packaging can vary by market and production run. Always compare the live listing with the physical carton you receive and treat the printed manufacturer information as the final reference.
Start with the stick-family name
The largest word on the front should identify the consumable family. TEREA is made for IQOS ILUMA and IQOS ILUMA i devices. It is not a general name for every heated-tobacco stick.
| Name on the pack | Compatible device family | Do not use with |
|---|---|---|
| TEREA | IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i | IQOS BONDS or older blade devices |
| BLENDS | IQOS BONDS | IQOS ILUMA or older blade devices |
| HEETS | Compatible older blade devices | IQOS ILUMA or IQOS BONDS |
The systems are not interchangeable. TEREA contains the element used by the ILUMA induction system and has a sealed tobacco end. The manufacturer warns that TEREA is not compatible with IQOS 3 DUO or earlier blade devices. Use the complete TEREA, BLENDS and HEETS compatibility table whenever the device family is uncertain.
Find the edition name, not only the colour
Names such as Amber, Bronze, Turquoise or a Pearl edition identify the specific TEREA listing. Colour helps distinguish cartons visually, but similar colour families can appear across origin markets and edition lines. Read the printed name and compare its spelling with the product title rather than ordering from a thumbnail alone.
An edition name does not change the basic compatibility rule: a genuine TEREA edition remains an ILUMA stick. It also does not prove the origin market by itself. The same or similar naming may appear on packaging produced for different markets, while some market-specific lines use names not found elsewhere.
Identify the origin market carefully
TereaStore groups current TEREA listings by the market edition shown on the packaging and confirmed in the catalogue. The TEREA by country range currently separates Japan, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Switzerland, Italy and Uzbekistan listings.
Look for the country or market information printed on the carton, the language used in mandatory labels, and the corresponding details shown on the live product page. Do not infer origin from colour alone, and do not treat an imported market edition as proof that TereaStore or the manufacturer offers the same support terms in every country.
“Origin market” in a retailer catalogue describes the edition being listed. It should not be expanded into an unsupported claim about where every component was grown, processed or assembled. If a manufacturing statement matters, use the wording printed on that exact carton.
Pack and carton are different quantities
For the current TereaStore TEREA catalogue, one carton is listed as 10 inner packs × 20 sticks = 200 sticks. One inner pack is therefore only one-tenth of the carton quantity.
| Unit | Current catalogue quantity | What the image may show |
|---|---|---|
| One TEREA pack | 20 sticks | A single slim retail pack |
| One TEREA carton | 10 packs, 200 sticks total | A larger carton, several packs, or a representative pack image |
A listing image does not determine the selling unit by itself. A product page may use a clear photo of one inner pack while the title, price and quantity describe a full carton. Read the unit stated beside the price and in the product information before ordering.
The dated TEREA price guide records carton-level prices by origin market and explains per-stick calculations. This packaging guide does not repeat those prices because price changes and quantity identification are separate questions.
Read the side and back panels
The front is designed for quick product identification. The side and back panels usually carry the denser information that should be checked before accepting a carton:
- edition or variant name;
- market or language information;
- pack and carton quantity statements;
- manufacturer or distributor details where printed;
- batch, production or other traceability markings;
- required tobacco and nicotine warning text;
- barcode or market-specific retail codes.
The location and format of those fields can change between markets. A different warning layout or language is not automatically evidence of a fake carton; it may reflect the market for which the packaging was produced. Equally, one familiar logo or barcode is not enough to authenticate a product on its own.
Do not invent an expiry date from a code
Batch and production codes are useful for traceability, but not every printed string is a consumer-readable expiry date. Do not convert a code using an unverified online formula or assume that every market uses the same order of year, month and day.
If the carton carries a clearly labelled date, follow that printed label. If the meaning of a code is unclear, keep the carton and purchase record and use the manufacturer support route for that market. Avoid scratching, altering or removing traceability labels before the product has been checked.
Packaging checks that help—but do not prove authenticity alone
Look for consistent printing, intact seals, matching edition names across the carton and inner packs, and traceability information that has not been removed. Compare what you receive with the live listing and invoice. Treat dramatic claims that one colour, font detail or barcode guarantees authenticity with caution.
The separate TEREA authenticity guide covers a broader multi-check process. It should be used as a checklist, not as a promise that visual inspection can replace manufacturer verification.
A five-step carton-reading checklist
- Confirm that the front says TEREA and that the intended device is IQOS ILUMA or ILUMA i.
- Match the complete edition name, not only the carton colour.
- Check the market or country information against the listing selected.
- Confirm whether the price is for one 20-stick pack or one 200-stick carton.
- Inspect seals, warning panels and traceability markings without trying to decode unsupported meanings.
Quick labels to remember
TEREA: the stick family for IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i.
Edition name: the specific variant printed on the pack.
Origin market: the market edition represented by the carton and retailer listing.
Pack: one inner unit containing 20 sticks in the current catalogue.
Carton: 10 packs and 200 sticks in the current catalogue.
Batch or traceability code: a production identifier that should not be interpreted beyond clearly published guidance.
Compatibility and TEREA construction were checked against the IQOS UAE TEREA information page on 11 September 2026. Catalogue quantities and origin groupings reflect TereaStore’s current listings on that date.
